I am working on a medicine-related product that requires PII redaction, so as a separate product that the medical app can connect to I created InkedOut - a pdf redaction tool. It runs entirely in the browser, nothing gets uploaded, the text is removed rather than covered (crucial if you're familiar with the Meta lawyers debacle from 2025), and it verifies its own output before letting the user download. Before I created it I searched for existing tools and found that those that do it properly are paid desktop or enterprise software, while the free browser ones simply put a black box on the text without actually removing the underlying text.
